Rough Draft of Slipper Story

Narrative: 3rd person omniscient
New POV: THE SLIPPER
I live in the middle of nowhere. I am sometimes summoned and sometimes ordered to life. There is an Italian bird, named Verdelio, who is my master.

I am afraid of him, and I listen to each and every one of his orders to the tee. I am a beautiful, magnificent slipper. Verdelio barely lets me show off my beauty.

Nevertheless, the craziest part is that, when I am summoned, I am summoned to a young woman, who goes by the name of Cinderella. Spending time with Cinderella is my favorite time of all. It is a chance to release from the prison of Verdelio that I am in and a chance to see the world.

Recently, I was summoned on Cinderella. We went to a beautiful ball where I was the CENTER of attention. I loved it. I wanted more! I was hoping I would get summoned soon after I was brought back to this repulsive prison!


Let me explain this prison to you.

It seems to be on a completely new dimension of the world. There is no ground to lay on and no ceiling to look up on.
It is an empty void to which I lay rest to for the majority of my immortal life. So you can see why I was excited!

Anyways, I was summoned the next day!

We went to another event where I was again the CENTER of attention! It was beautiful. I received more attention than before. People specifically told me how BEAUTIFUL I was!
I was dancing and enjoying the event before I remembered what lay before me that night.
Verdelio took me away from my happiness, again.

That night, I lay back looking into the empty, black void that is my life and wished for another chance at escape.

And it came.

I escaped. Me and Cinderella had a wonderful time. And then she ran off without me!

I was so upset! I thought the little bird would come take me away within a few seconds.

But it never happened.

I was free.

I was happy.

It dawned on me that Cinderella and the bird had some type of relationship that included me, and once I was away from Cinderella, I was away from the bird!

My new home at the time was with a few older men (disgusting, repulsive individuals I might add).

One day I was carried along on a journey. I was enjoying the fresh air and the comfortable seat I was sitting in. When I realized where we were I almost broke my heel.

We were back at Cinderella’s!

They treated me horribly. They had some ugly girls trying me on. Their feet were too big and too small, aside from the smell that was radiating from them!

Then Cinderella came. She was beautiful. Yet, in light of my newfound knowledge that Cinderella was associated with the bird, I hated her!

She used me!

They put me on her like I was some type generic non-brand name slippers! I was horrified, and waited for the little Italian bird to take me away.

And to this day, he never has.

I have been enjoying a rich and lavish lifestyle with some of the same disgusting old men I had met earlier.

But, whatever is going on in this crazy and confusing world, you can bet that I’m not complaining!

Cinderella (Italy)

I really enjoyed this piece.

It was different from the original Cinderella in its own way.

In this story, Cinderella is a daughter of a man who buys her a little bird.
This bird becomes magical and grants Cinderella her wishes of becoming beautiful at periodic times. There is a slipper that, at the last wish that is granted for Cinderella, she loses at an engagement.
The guards find it and track it down to Cinderella and she lives happily ever after with her king.

I thought it was interesting because of the fact of a magical little bird and I want to write a parody of the story in the point of view of the slipper!

For starters,

-Parking

-The foundation of this issue is class selection! MOST CLASSES ARE OFFERED AT THE SAME TIME. CLASSES NEED TO BE SPREAD OUT DURING THE DAY!

-Food

- We need to find private vendors and force the University to diversify their food selection! We are the ones who pay our tuition, which consequently goes towards the purchase of food.

Did you know..
Aramark, our food distributor, has a contract with the University that stipulates that even if they are not profitable, their difference is made up by the school?
What incentive do they have to create any GOOD, QUALITY FOOD!!!

-Class Selection

-How many times have you tried to get into a class that you weren't able to register for?
-Maybe it was because of two different classes offered at the same time?

-Maybe there weren't enough professors to teach the class?

-Programs Offered

-Why do we pay multiple times the tuition of HFCC and they have a nursing program?

-Why does Wayne State have pre-medical fields to major in as well as a nursing program?
-Why is our administration spending $1,000,000 on a sign outside of the UC and not putting it towards new programs or financial aid!

-Tuition

-Did you know that every single prisoner receives $44,000 a year from the state?

-Did you know that every single student receives roughtly $3,000 from the state?
- HOW IS THAT FAIR?
-WHERE IS OUR MONEY GOING?

-WHY IS THIS APPROPRIATED LIKE THIS??

-Dorms!

-Library/Finals Week

-Insurance

-Textbook Prices!
